Bubble Milk Tea (Boba) originated in Taiwan in the early 1980's at a small tea stand.  It is believed that Boba Tea is the marriage of East Asia's long love affair with tea and their favorite desserts of shaved ice and tapioca balls.  Boba has since then evolved through the creativity and resoucefulness of tea concessions by adding various flavors and textures to this drink.
